Tinubu praised Oshodi’s election as a proud moment for Nigeria, reflecting the strong backing he received, both from the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation and various African nations.
The President emphasized that Oshodi’s victory symbolizes confidence in his abilities as a dedicated sports administrator who has consistently championed grassroots development, integrity, and accountability.
The President further noted that Oshodi’s passion and leadership make him well-positioned to advance table tennis across the African continent.
With his wealth of experience, including roles as Deputy President of ATTF and Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Oshodi is expected to build upon the progress made by his predecessor, Egypt’s Khaled El-Salhy, and elevate the sport to new heights.
Oshodi’s unanimous election marks him as the second Nigerian to lead the ATTF, following Engr. Segun George, and the only Nigerian currently presiding over a continental sports federation.
His distinguished career in sports administration began in 2000 when he was appointed to the Lagos State Sports Council by then-Governor Bola Tinubu.
