Ondo 2024: APC Names Akande, Uzodinma, Shaibu, Others to Key Sub-committees (Full List)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Working Committee (NWC) have announced a series of sub-committees to lead campaign efforts for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election on November 16.

In a statement released on Monday, signed by APC National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu, several notable party members were appointed to head various committees.

Former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande has been appointed as Chair of the Elders Committee, with Pius Akinyelure, a former Ondo governorship aspirant, serving as Deputy. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State will chair the Finance Committee, assisted by Senate President Godswill Akpabio as Deputy.

The Media and Publicity Committee will be led by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, supported by the Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed.

Security efforts will be overseen by Borno Governor Babagana Zulum, with Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya as Deputy Chair.

The APC statement emphasized that “National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in consultation with the National Working Committee, has approved the composition of the Ondo State Gubernatorial National Campaign Council,” with an official inauguration set for October 28 at The Dome in Akure, Ondo State.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has been named Chair of the National Campaign Council, leading a 305-member team.

He will be supported by former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and key APC members including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris, Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
