‘Drive Reforms’, FG Tasks 332 Promoted Directors

The Federal Government has charged 332 newly promoted directors to take the lead in driving transformative reforms within Nigeria’s civil service.

During a decoration ceremony held in Abuja, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, congratulated the directors and emphasized the significance of their new roles.

“The future of the civil service depends on your dedication, passion, and purpose,” Walson-Jack stated.

She assured the directors of her office’s full support, including resources, training, and guidance to ensure their success.

Walson-Jack also praised President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to civil service reform, citing the recent increase in the minimum wage as a step that has positively impacted directors’ earnings across various ministries.

“These reforms are vital for the growth of the civil service. By addressing the concerns of public servants, President Tinubu has demonstrated his commitment to enhancing service delivery,” she said.

The ceremony featured the decoration of the directors with lapels symbolizing their promotions.

Drive Reforms Promoted Directors

Additionally, Walson-Jack unveiled four key documents aimed at improving public service delivery: frameworks on Performance Management, Incentive and Consequence Management, Mentoring Policies and Guidelines, and Protocols for the Federal Government Secretariat.

Highlighting the diverse representation across ministries, Walson-Jack stressed the collective mission to establish a professional, efficient, and globally competitive civil service.

Promotions spanned several ministries, including Agriculture, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Housing, and others. Among the notable appointees were Agunrege Akeem and Ogala-Akogwu Victoria Laruba from the State House, Ugoji Felicia Mezi from the Office of the Head of Civil Service, and Kareem Abdulateef Olawunmi and Joseph Peter Olufe from the Ministry of Health.

This significant milestone underscores the federal government’s commitment to fostering excellence and innovation within the civil service to meet the aspirations of Nigerians.
