The Kano State Government has started implementing the newly approved ₦71,000 minimum wage for its workers, just three weeks after receiving and approving the recommendations from a special committee set up for this purpose.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that workers’ November salaries have been adjusted to reflect the approved increment. Abdullahi Musa, the Head of Civil Service, expressed gratitude to Allah and praised the governor for fulfilling his commitment.

“Since His Excellency made the announcement on the salary increase, I have remained optimistic that it would be implemented,” Musa said. He urged civil servants to show dedication and commitment in their work as a way of reciprocating the government’s gesture.

“This increment is a call for us to rededicate ourselves to effective and efficient service delivery. Let us exhibit hard work and fear of God in our duties to fully justify what we are earning,” he advised.
