NDLEA Moves Headquarters To New Facility In Abuja

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has officially relocated its headquarters to a newly constructed facility in the Jahi area of Abuja, with the first phase of the project inaugurated during an interdenominational service on Wednesday.

In a statement by Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, the relocation was deemed essential for the agency’s expansion and operational improvement.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the first phase of the headquarters is functional, though not fully completed, with the remaining work set to be funded through the 2025 budget.

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), explained the decision:

“Even though this is the first phase of the new headquarters project, we are hopeful to complete the process with next year’s budget.
“The expansion of the agency necessitated this move as our old location could no longer accommodate everyone. Scores of officers had to be posted elsewhere due to limited space.”

Marwa emphasized that the new facility would allow the agency to consolidate its operations, improving efficiency and coordination by bringing all directorates under one roof. The old office in the Gimbiya area of Garki, Abuja, will now serve as an annex.

The NDLEA chief also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support in empowering the agency to combat substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking effectively.
