Ogun Police Warns Parents: Steer Clear of Transportation Services Operated by Strangers

As reports of missing individuals across various age groups continue to escalate, the Ogun State Police Command has issued a warning, urging parents to avoid using commercial transportation services operated by strangers for their children.

Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement dated 7th January 2025, CSP Omolola Odutola, the Command’s spokesperson, emphasized that this advisory is based on insights gained from interactions with individuals who were fortunate enough to be rescued by the police.

While lamenting the increased rate of cases of missing persons, Odutola’s statement said “only a small fraction of these individuals are located” while “a significant number regrettably do not return home.”

She also advised anyone in distress to contact the police control room and Public Relations Department.

“As a proactive and community-oriented force, the Command is committed to raising public awareness about this concerning trend and encouraging everyone to prioritize their safety by maintaining a heightened sense of security as a way to avoid becoming a victim.

“The Commissioner of Police has outlined these measures as essential guidelines to keep the residents of Ogun State informed about the most pressing issues.

“In light of this, Commissioner CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, based on insights from rescued individuals, urges parents to refrain from using commercial transportation services for their children with unknown strangers.
