NBTE Commends LSEB Energy Academy

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has commended the Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB) for establishing the Lagos Energy Academy.

During a courtesy visit to the LSEB’s Old Works Yard facility in Ikeja, the NBTE’s Deputy Director of the South West Zonal Office, Dr. John Onyebuchi, emphasized the importance of skill acquisition and formal certification in empowering individuals and addressing unemployment.
He explained that registering with NBTE would elevate the Lagos Energy Academy (LEA), ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for both local and international career opportunities.
In his remarks, the General Manager, LSEB, Engr. K.A.T. Balogun noted that the academy aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda, which aims to transform Lagos into a 21st-century economy.
“Our goal is to equip participants with globally competitive skills, making them employable not only in Lagos but internationally,” he added.
Dr. Onyebuchi further highlighted the significance of skill acquisition in reducing unemployment, praising Lagos State’s efforts to create job opportunities for its residents regardless of their educational background.
Following the discussion, Engr. Balogun led a tour of the Lagos Energy Academy’s facilities.
