Lagos state deputy governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat celebrates the Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom, HRM. Oba Alaiyeluwa Rafiu Ishola Babatunde Ishola Balogun on his 20th coronation anniversary and 80th birthday anniversary.

Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo olu ably represented by the deputy governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, sent his regards thus praising the king’s effort in striving for the development of Ejinrin community.

While giving his remarks at the grand finale of the celebration held on the 12th of January 2025 at the Elejinrin palace ground, Ketu Epe Lagos Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, acknowledged all royalties in attendance while offering prayers to the king and his kingdom.

“God will grant you long life and may your wishes for Ejinrin community become a reality.” He said.

Continuing, the governor described Ejinrin as a community of historic legacy in Nigeria, housing the first post office in the country.

The 20th coronation anniversary of Oba Rafiu highlighted his legacy and developmental impact in Ejinrin since the last 20 years.
The anniversary which spanned for a week staree on the 5th and ended on the 12th of January, and embodied activities that showcased his selfless service to the community thus exhibiting the rich cultural heritage of Ejinrin Kingdom.

The dual event; 20th coronation anniversary and 80th birthday, encapsulated thanksgiving session, traditional rites, conferment of chieftaincy titles, and free medical outreach to residents of community, the event climaxed with ancestral masquerade displaying it’s cultural dance steps.

The ceremony concluded with the grand finale on the past day hosting dignitaries, royalties, political leaders and community members as they all gathered to celebrate the milestone attained by the Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom.

Rep. Wale Tesir Raji, representing Epe federal constituency, thanked the king for his support and as well wished him prosperous years ahead.

Furthermore, veteran nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko also attended the groundbreaking ceremony, he regarded the celebrant as his Uncle, while wishing him more years in good health.

Alhaji seriki Bamu, APC Chieftain, Lagos white cap chiefs represented the royal father of the day , Oba of Lagos , Hrm. Rilwan Akinolu, Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Alayandele of Ayandelu Kingdom, Hrm. Oba Asunmo Ganiu, Oloja of Epe land, Hrm. Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun amidst many other.
