EKO HOT BLOG reports that Dickson made the declaration at a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, citing deepening internal crises within the PDP as the reason for his decision.
According to him, the party’s current condition has weakened its structures and raised doubts about its readiness for the forthcoming general elections.
He said the crisis rocking the PDP could hinder its ability to even field candidates in future polls if urgent reforms are not undertaken.
The former governor stated that the Nigeria Democratic Congress would position itself as a strong opposition force, capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Dickson pledged that the new party would work to prevent what he described as attempts by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to turn Nigeria into a one party state.

He maintained that the country requires a vibrant opposition to safeguard democratic values, strengthen accountability, and ensure competitive elections.
