Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, marking the beginning of his second term in office.

Trump’s address struck a familiar tone of defiance and grievance, highlighting what he described as the failures of the establishment.
He criticized the government’s response to natural disasters, the state of public health and education, and policies he claimed undermined American citizens while protecting criminals and unauthorized immigrants.
“My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal,” Trump declared, promising to restore “faith, wealth, democracy, and freedom.”
The president vowed swift action, announcing plans for a series of executive orders.

Key priorities include declaring a national emergency at the southern border, reinstating the “remain in Mexico” policy, and designating drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
Trump also promised to roll back electric vehicle regulations, revoke birthright citizenship for children of unauthorized immigrants, and enforce policies defining gender as strictly male or female.
Trump’s speech included a personal reflection, referencing a purported assassination attempt he survived, which he described as evidence of divine intervention. “I was saved by God to make America great again,” he said.
While Trump proclaimed that the country is “rapidly unifying behind our agenda,” his popular vote margin remains one of the narrowest in modern history.

Unlike the immediate protests that met his first inauguration, opposition figures appear to be adopting a cautious approach this time, observing Trump’s initial actions before mounting a response.
As the nation enters this new chapter, Trump assured Americans that brighter days lie ahead. “The golden age of America begins right now,” he declared.
