The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM),Abike Dabiri-Erewa has led 14-member African Ancestry delegation to Nigeria to consider their roots in Nigeria.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the 14-Member delegation consisted of descendants who have traced their roots to various tribes in Nigeria and were welcomed to Lagos, as they were led by Dabiri-Erewa to meet with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State.

Dabiri-Erewa had encouraged the delegation to explore other regions of Nigeria, emphasizing the rich cultural heritage and potential the country holds for those seeking to connect with their roots.
The NiDOM Chairman also appreciated Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his warm reception
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa commended the Governor for his achievements in making Lagos an attractive destination, highlighting the success of the recent “Detty December” festivities.

She also expressed gratitude for Sanwo-Olu’s approval to construct the permanent “Door of Return” in Badagry, a project aimed at boosting tourism in the state.
During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu shared his vision for Lagos as a hub for cultural exchange and a beacon for the African diaspora, opening up discussions for potential initiatives that would strengthen connections between Nigeria and its global diaspora.
Gina Paige, the leader of the 14-member delegation, appealed to the Nigerian government to consider granting Nigerian passports and citizenship to individuals whose DNA tests have confirmed their ancestral links to Nigeria.
