EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to *The Nation*, the former Nigerian leader arrived at the Presidential Villa, where he held a private meeting with President Tinubu.

Neither the Presidency nor Jonathan’s camp issued an official statement on the outcome of the meeting.

The visit comes days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) dismissed claims by the Kabiru Turaki led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that it had manually submitted its list of candidates for the 2027 general elections, including former President Jonathan as its presidential candidate.

INEC maintained that all political parties are required to submit the names of their candidates through the commission’s designated electronic portal, raising questions over the faction’s claim that it resorted to manual submission after allegedly being denied access codes.

The commission’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Ita Messi, stated this during an interview with Leadership in Abuja on Friday while responding to the faction’s allegations.

Although she said she could not confirm whether the faction had submitted any list of candidates to the commission, Ita Messi stressed that manual submission of candidates’ names is contrary to INEC’s established procedures.
