In an effort to build upon the successful implementation of its palliative programme in Imo State, the Federal Government has announced the expansion of the initiative to include students across Nigeria and residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

“These palliatives serve as a bridge while our comprehensive economic reforms take root”, a statement issued by the Director of Information in the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Manga, quoted her.
The palliative programme has successfully extended its reach to a wide range of demographics across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) area councils.

Beneficiary groups include student bodies, women’s associations, community organizations, and vulnerable populations.
Several notable student organizations have benefited from the programme, such as the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Nigerian Female Students Association (NFSAN), and NANS alumni networks.
Mr. Sunday Asefon, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, commended the initiative, highlighting Minister Uzoka Anite’s dedication to student welfare.
