According to Comrade Moibi Coordinator of NYCN Epe Branch, donating blood is an act of selflessness that can save countless lives.
“Every day, patients in hospitals need blood transfusions due to accidents, childbirth complications, and medical conditions like sickle cell disease.
As youths, we must take responsibility and contribute to our society. Blood donation is one way to do that,” he stated.
Medical professionals at the General Hospital, Epe, have stressed the importance of a steady blood supply.
A consultant at the hospital, urged more people to embrace blood donation as a way of helping others.
“Many patients lose their lives simply because there is no blood available at critical moments.
A single donation can save up to three lives. We encourage the public to participate and help build a sustainable blood bank for emergencies,” he explained.
A previous donor, shared his experience and encouraged others to take part.
“I started donating blood after realizing how much of a difference it makes.
It costs nothing, yet it can mean everything to someone in need. I urge everyone to come out and donate,” he said.
