Nigerian comedian Adesombi Martin, popularly known as DeeOne, has confessed to orchestrating a scheme involving popular media personality and Honest Bunch podcast host, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu, in an attempt to “trap” controversial social media figure, Martins Otse, also called VeryDarkMan (VDM).

Eko Hot Blog reports that DeeOne made this revelation during an interview with TVC News, where he admitted that the controversy surrounding Nedu and VDM was a calculated move planned solely by him, without Nedu’s knowledge or involvement.
“I want to say the truth, I set a trap for VeryDarkMan using Nedu,” DeeOne openly declared during the interview.
According to DeeOne, the entire drama between Nedu and VDM was a well-thought-out strategy to expose the social media activist, who has gained fame for his vocal criticisms and exposés on various societal issues.

He claimed that he wanted to test whether VDM was truly genuine or merely an opportunist manipulating the public for personal gain.
The controversy has since taken an unexpected turn, as reports indicate that Nedu has stepped down from his role as the host of the Honest Bunch podcast following the public backlash that ensued from the incident.

When asked whether he regretted setting the trap, considering Nedu’s career had now been affected, DeeOne expressed remorse but maintained that his actions were driven by a desire to hold social media figures accountable.
“I did not know Nedu was going to lose his job, and I am really sorry about that,” DeeOne said. “But we need to stop people from coming on social media without proper proof.”

He further reiterated that Nedu had no idea about his plan, emphasizing that the podcaster was an innocent party who had unfairly suffered as a result. DeeOne pleaded with Nigerians to understand Nedu’s position and not punish him for something he had no control over.
Unfortunately, despite DeeOne’s plea, the damage appears to have been done, with Nedu’s future on the Honest Bunch podcast now uncertain.

The situation has sparked widespread debate on social media, with many calling for more responsible behavior from public figures while others criticize DeeOne for playing with people’s careers.
As the fallout continues, it remains to be seen whether Nedu will return to his role on the podcast or move on to new opportunities in the media industry.
