Police operatives from the Ogun State Command have arrested a man named Harry Collins, who allegedly impersonated a Nigeria Police Force (NPF) officer and promoted himself to the rank of sergeant.
Eko Hot Blog reports that confirming the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer CSP Omolola Odutola stated that Collins was apprehended during a reconnaissance patrol led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, in the Mangoro area of the state.

According to reports, Collins was found dressed in a full police uniform bearing the rank of a sergeant.
He has since been taken into police custody and is undergoing interrogation regarding his alleged actions.
According to State Police Spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola, officers on duty became suspicious of Collins’ presence at the Long Bridge, where he was spotted dressed in full police uniform with a sergeant rank.

Collins was subsequently arrested and detained at the police station for further questioning.
During interrogation, Collins was reportedly unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions, which only served to raise more suspicion about his motives.
The Ogun State Police Command is continuing its investigation to determine Collins’ true intentions and will press charges once the investigation is complete.
In light of this incident, the Command has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as police officers to the appropriate authorities for swift action.
