A 25-year-old housewife, Salamatu Danjuma, from Nadabo village in Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi State, has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband during a domestic dispute.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that preliminary investigations reveal that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over the custody of Salamatu’s six-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

Initially, discussions between the couple suggested that the child would be welcomed into their home. However, tensions escalated when her husband later changed his mind. The situation turned tragic during a heated argument when Salamatu reportedly grabbed a knife from their bedroom and fatally attacked her husband.
Responding swiftly to a distress call, detectives from the Bununu Police Divisional Headquarters arrived at the scene on Monday, February 24, 2025. The victim was rushed to the Cottage Hospital in Bununu for urgent care, but medical personnel later confirmed his death due to severe injuries.
CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Command, confirmed the arrest in a press release on Monday night.

He noted that CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, the Commissioner of Police in the state, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a thorough and discreet investigation into the incident. Appropriate legal action will be taken upon the conclusion of the investigation.
