British heavyweight Tyson Fury has cautioned Anthony Joshua against pursuing a rematch with Daniel Dubois, questioning his chances of victory.
Fury and Joshua have shared a long-running rivalry but have never met in the ring despite years of speculation. Both fighters have enjoyed reigns as world champions, yet a blockbuster showdown between them has remained elusive.

Last year, Joshua had the opportunity to reclaim a world title against Dubois, but he suffered a fifth-round stoppage loss. A win could have set up a long-awaited clash with Fury—provided Fury avenged his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch. However, both fighters lost, with Joshua being stopped emphatically and Fury dropping a points decision to Usyk before announcing his shock retirement.
With a fight against Fury no longer on the table, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has made securing a rematch with IBF champion Dubois his top priority. Despite Dubois being in line for an undisputed title fight against Usyk, Hearn remains hopeful of staging a Joshua-Dubois rematch this summer.
Fury, however, is unconvinced that Joshua should—or will—go down that route. Speaking to The Stomping Ground, ‘The Gypsy King’ dismissed Joshua’s chances in a second fight.

“No, [he can’t win the rematch]. I don’t think he can. I don’t even think he will take a rematch.”
While hopes of a Fury-Joshua clash have faded with Fury’s retirement, Joshua remains in the hunt for a major fight. If Dubois proceeds with an Usyk showdown, Joshua will have to look elsewhere to stay active.
Interim champions Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel—both positioned for future title shots—emerge as strong contenders for Joshua’s next fight as he seeks to rebuild toward a marquee bout later in the year.
