The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed fortified camps belonging to notorious bandit kingpins, Gero (Alhaji) and Alhaji Riga, killing over 20 other fighters in Katsina State.
EKO HOT BLOG reports the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji carried out a precision airstrike in the early hours of March 13, 2025, targeting the criminals’ hideouts in Unguwar Goga Hillforest, Ruwan Godiya Ward, Faskari Local Government Area.

In a statement, NAF Deputy Spokesman, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, confirmed that the airstrikes, based on careful and actionable intelligence, had a devastating impact on the bandits.
He noted that additional casualties were reported in the surrounding rocky hills, while an assessment of the full extent of the damage was ongoing.
According to the statement, Riga and Gero were key enablers of banditry, providing shelter to terrorist elements responsible for relentless ambushes along the Funtua-Gusau Road, particularly between Yankara and Sheme villages.
