A 16-year-old girl, Maryam Samuel, has reportedly taken her own life in Kaltungo community, Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that confirming the incident on Saturday in Gombe, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, stated that the teenager was found hanging from a tree.

According to Abdullahi, the tragic event occurred on March 14, just a day after Maryam left home to gather firewood.
“At about 9:00 a.m. on Friday, the village head of Kalarin reported a case of suicide at the Kaltungo Divisional Headquarters. The deceased, identified as 16-year-old Maryam Samuel from Kalarin ward, was discovered hanging from a tree on Kalarin Mountain. No visible signs of violence were found on her body,” he said.
He added that Maryam’s remains had been taken to the General Hospital Kaltungo.
