Engr. Fashola confirmed that speed limit cameras have already been installed in various locations, including Alapere-Ogudu Road, with different speed limits depending on the direction of travel, and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, where the limit is set at 60 km/h.
E-police cameras are currently in place at Allen Junction and Nurudeen Olowopopo Road in Ikeja, focusing on red-light running and other traffic violations.
Motorists are urged to pay close attention to the warning signs posted at these locations to ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
The VIS Director emphasized the penalties associated with violating the speed limit, noting that offenders would face a fine of Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000). However, those disputing the violation may contest the fine by providing evidence to support their claims.
Responding to a caller who inquired whether commercial vehicles are exempted from the enforcement initiative, Engr. Fashola clarified that an average of 50 commercial buses are apprehended daily for various traffic violations.

He said the government has launched an online roadworthiness recertification system, allowing vehicle owners to conveniently renew their roadworthiness certificates without the need to visit a physical VIS office.
In addition, the VIS now offers an auto verification service for individuals seeking to purchase used vehicles. This valuable resource provides a comprehensive history of the vehicle, empowering buyers to make well-informed decisions.
