President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Kemi Nandap’s tenure as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nandap, who joined the NIS on October 9, 1989, was appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with her initial tenure set to end on August 31, 2025. However, with this extension, she will continue leading the agency for an additional period.
A statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised Nandap’s leadership, noting her contributions to border management, immigration modernization, and national security.
According to the statement, Nandap’s tenure has brought significant improvements in the NIS, particularly in enhancing border security, streamlining immigration processes, and strengthening national security measures.
