A tragic road accident occurred on Saturday at the Dutse Tipper Garage Bus Stop in Abuja, resulting in the feared death of seven individuals, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrific, with mangled tricycles, shattered windscreens, and bloodied belongings scattered across the busy intersection.

The incident reportedly involved a heavy-duty truck and several commercial tricycles, commonly known as Keke Napep.
According to local residents and passersby, the truck suffered a brake failure, causing it to lose control and ram into the tricycles waiting at the bus stop to pick up or drop off passengers.
“The truck came speeding from the top of the hill and couldn’t stop. It rammed into the tricycles and crushed the passengers. Some died instantly,” an eyewitness said.
Emergency responders, including officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps and the National Emergency Management Agency, swiftly arrived at the scene. They collaborated with bystanders to transport victims to nearby hospitals and address the chaotic aftermath.
A video shared on social media showed the harrowing scene, with mangled bodies and people struggling to rescue those trapped in the wreckage. The heavy-duty truck responsible for the crash was seen overturned at the site.

While authorities have yet to release an official casualty count, multiple sources at the scene confirmed that seven bodies were retrieved from the wreckage. Several injured victims were reportedly taken to hospitals in Gwarinpa and Kubwa for medical treatment.
A Federal Road Safety Corps official, speaking anonymously, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
