The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transitioning WAEC and NECO examinations to Computer-Based Testing (CBT) by 2026, as stated by Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa during a visit to Start-Rite School.

The visit allowed Dr. Alausa to witness the effective implementation of CBT at Start-Rite School, known for its progressive approach to education and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Impressed by the students’ focus and technical proficiency during the exams, the minister emphasized the importance of this shift in examination methods for ensuring digital integrity and fairness in the education system.
With the strong backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Alausa assured Nigerians that the CBT transition would be achieved within the next two years.
Addressing the critical issue of exam malpractice, Dr. Alausa, stressed the importance of curbing such practices to ensure a level playing field for all students. He highlighted that the current widespread cheating is unacceptable and that Nigerians must demand better and uphold stronger values.
