The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has unveiled plans to construct a new headquarters for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the new building will be located in the Maitama district of the capital.

Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, said President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to flag off the construction next week.
The event is part of activities marking Tinubu’s second year in office.
In May, Minister Wike had said the President would inaugurate completed projects and launch new ones within the FCT.
The projects include the renovation of the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC), the construction of bus terminals in Kugbo and Mabushi, and the Apo-Wassa Road.
Other infrastructure works are the N16 interchange, roads linking Maitama through Katampe to Jahi, the inner northern expressway (Idu to Kubwa), CN8 from N5 (Obafemi Awolowo Way) to the Court of Appeal, and the N20 flyover on the Kubwa expressway.
Access roads in Life Camp, Kabusa-Takushara, Kabusa-Ketti, Giri District, and a 15km stretch from the A2 Abuja-Lokoja Junction to Pai in Kwali Area Council are also underway.
