President Bola Tinubu on Monday extended his congratulations to Dr. Awele Elumelu, Chairperson of Avon Healthcare Limited, on the occasion of her 55th birthday.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended Dr. Elumelu for her notable achievements and numerous honors, highlighting her steadfast commitment to uplifting lives and supporting vulnerable communities.
“The President commends Dr Elumelu for her outstanding achievements and numerous recognitions, highlighting her lifelong commitment to saving lives and empowering women and children,” the statement read.
President Bola Tinubu highlighted Dr. Awele Elumelu’s influential leadership at Avon Healthcare Limited and her role as Founder and CEO of Avon Medical Practice, noting her pivotal contributions to expanding access to quality healthcare in Nigeria and across Africa, especially among underserved populations.
He also reflected on her impactful work as the Private Sector Champion for Immunisation in Africa with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in 2018 , a role through which she helped reach over 10 million unvaccinated children, showcasing her far-reaching influence in global public health.
Beyond her professional and charitable accomplishments, the President praised Elumelu’s passion for fitness, citing her participation in marathons both locally and abroad as a source of inspiration for many to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Tinubu further recognized her philanthropic efforts as a Director at Heirs Holdings and a Trustee of The Tony Elumelu Foundation.
