Trump who was en route to a NATO summit in The Hague, made the announcement via his Truth Social platform, posting: “the Ceasefire is in effect!”
“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt.” Trump wrote.
Speaking to reporters on the White House’s South Lawn as he departed for the NATO summit, Trump stated, “The two countries have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing, do you understand that?

“Iran violated the ceasefire, but Israel violated it too.
“So I’m not happy with them. I’m not happy with Iran either. But I’m really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning.”
“I’ve got to get Israel to calm down. Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen before.”
If successful, the ceasefire would mark a significant political victory for President Trump, following his high-stakes move over the weekend to deploy US bombers in strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites. According to both the United States and Israel, these facilities were allegedly being used to secretly develop an atomic bomb.
President Trump explained that the ceasefire was structured as a phased 24-hour process starting at approximately 0400 GMT on Tuesday. Under this arrangement, Iran was expected to halt all military operations first, with Israel set to follow 12 hours later.
