EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking in a televised address following the commencement of a ceasefire between both countries, Netanyahu said Israel had achieved its military objectives.
“We have achieved a historic victory,” he said. “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. We have thwarted Iran’s nuclear project, and if anyone in Iran tries to rebuild it, we will act with the same determination and intensity to stop them.”
Israel’s Defence Forces Chief, Eyal Zamir, had earlier stated that Israeli strikes had set back Iran’s nuclear programme “by years” and that the operation was now “entering a new phase.”
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed on Tuesday that Tehran was ready to return to nuclear negotiations with the United States as part of the ceasefire conditions. However, he emphasized that Iran would continue to defend its right to peaceful nuclear energy.
Israel’s government announced earlier that it had eliminated what it called the “dual existential threat” posed by Iran’s nuclear weapons programme and missile capabilities during its military campaign.
Netanyahu described the Israeli offensive, named “Operation Rising Lion,” as a landmark operation in Israel’s military history. “This campaign will be studied by armies worldwide,” he said.
The operation included coordinated airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities, targeted assassinations of key military and security leaders, as well as attacks on state-run media stations and the notorious Evin prison in Tehran.

The United States also participated in the offensive, with President Donald Trump announcing on Sunday that American forces had “totally obliterated” Iran’s key nuclear sites.
Despite the heavy strikes, analysts warned that it remains uncertain whether Iran’s nuclear capabilities have been permanently neutralised, as there are concerns that Tehran may have relocated its enriched uranium stockpiles.
