The Federal Ministry of Education has extended warm congratulations to the Founder and Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola, as well as the entire academic and administrative staff of the institution, following its recent international recognition.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, ABUAD secured a major global milestone by ranking 84th in the world, 3rd in Africa, and maintaining its position as the number one university in Nigeria for the fourth year in a row, spanning 2022 to 2025.

In an official letter to Aare Afe Babalola, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, praised the renowned legal expert and philanthropist for his enduring commitment to educational advancement and national development.
“Your achievement is not only a personal triumph but a national milestone. It is inspiring to witness your decade-long dream, once expressed to former Chief Justice Hon. Justice Tanko Mohammed, become a global reality within your lifetime,” the Minister stated.

He emphasized that their efforts prove Nigerian institutions can attain world-class status when driven by vision, passion, and professionalism.
Dr. Alausa noted that this recognition should not only be a moment of celebration but a call to deepen the commitment to quality and globally relevant education.
“This accomplishment is a catalyst that should propel, inspire, and encourage deeper commitment to quality, functional, and globally competitive education,” Dr. Alausa noted.
