His Royal Majesty, Oba (Tpl.) AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa, the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, has successfully facilitated a Federal Government-backed Fishery Empowerment Program in partnership with the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, and Unibuildro Resources Limited.
Ekohotblog reports that Fifty selected beneficiaries from the Igbooye community each received 1,000 fingerlings and seven bags of high-quality fish feed during the program held today in Igbooye, Eredo LCDA, Lagos State.

The initiative is aimed at helping participants kickstart sustainable fish farming ventures and contribute to national food security efforts.
Leading the delegation, Mr. Salawu Abidemi supervised the distribution and conducted an intensive training session for the beneficiaries. He underscored the long-term vision of the initiative, saying,
“This program is part of a national strategy to improve food production and economic resilience at the grassroots level. Lagos State’s participation is thanks to the passion and advocacy of His Royal Majesty.”
He emphasized best practices in aquaculture, warning participants to treat the support as seed capital and not an item for resale.
During his address, HRM Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa expressed heartfelt gratitude to the agencies involved. He advised beneficiaries to make full use of the resources and resist the urge to sell them.
“This is not a gift to be traded away, but an investment in your future,” he said.
“I want to see you grow this opportunity, expand your farms, and even empower others tomorrow.”
