A tragic incident occurred at a construction site in Lagos, where a crane operator, Rotimi Adesina, lost his life following a crane malfunction.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Safety Commission sealed off the site after Adesina sustained severe injuries during the incident. He was rushed to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1 but later died from his wounds.

Officials from the Safety Commission, who promptly responded to the scene, engaged the Project Manager, Hein Coerzer, and Company Secretary, Ndidi Uchechukwu, regarding the incident.
The officials were informed that all crane-related documents are stored at the company’s head office.

The company has now been directed to submit full documentation on the crane and all project operations for further review.
In the meantime, the site has been sealed with an abatement notice to eliminate imminent hazards.
Director-General of the Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola, emphasised the importance of enforcing safety measures on construction sites.
He assured the public that the government remains committed to preventing similar occurrences by holding companies accountable.
He also extended condolences to the family of the deceased and confirmed that updates would be released as the investigation progresses.
