A 22 years old student of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has been linked to the sudden death of a senior lecturer, Dr Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, during an alleged s3xual encounter at a hotel in the town.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, and was reported to the police by the hotel manager.

Spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, Superintendent William Aya, confirmed the development to journalists in Lokoja on Friday.
He described the incident as unfortunate and disclosed that an autopsy has been conducted to determine the actual cause of death.
According to police findings, the hotel manager, Moses Friday, informed authorities that the student, identified as Gloria Samuel, a 200 level student in the Department of Social Studies Education, rushed to the hotel reception to report that the lecturer had collapsed shortly after their encounter.

The lecturer was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Police said investigations are ongoing, and further steps will be taken based on the results.
A student who spoke on condition of anonymity claimed that the lecturer had engaged in s3xual activity with the student before his death.
He also stated that the student was arrested, taken into custody, and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Dr Ibikunle, who was reportedly married with children, was said to have checked into the hotel with the student earlier that day. There are also unconfirmed reports that he had consumed multiple energy drinks prior to the incident.
