A police inspector lost his life following a fatal crash involving two trucks at a checkpoint along the Abeokuta to Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the accident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 29, near the checkpoint close to the Judiciary Complex.

Preliminary findings indicate that a FAW truck carrying 900 bags of cement was approaching the checkpoint at high speed without exercising proper caution.
The truck rammed into a stationary FAW mini truck that had stopped in compliance with checkpoint instructions.
The collision severely injured Inspector Afolabi Adeola, who was on duty at the location.
He was immediately rushed to a medical facility in Lagos for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, including an X-ray examination, Inspector Adeola passed away from his injuries on July 1.
Traffic officials at the scene conducted a preliminary investigation, which included taking photographs, preparing sketch maps, and securing both vehicles for further review.
Authorities have confirmed that those involved in the incident will face legal proceedings, with arraignment scheduled for July 3.
