“The 2025 WAEC examinations were successfully concluded, with only a few isolated cases of malpractice reported. These incidents were promptly addressed by the appropriate authorities,” the statement read.
The Ministry also clarified that the ongoing National Examinations Council (NECO) assessments are proceeding without incident. As of the time of the release, no cases of malpractice have been recorded.
Officials confirmed that no formal communication or reports indicating widespread examination malpractice have been received from WAEC, NECO, or any other relevant examination body.
The Ministry advised students, parents, educators, and the general public to remain calm and verify all information through credible and official sources.
“The public is strongly advised to seek accurate updates only through verified channels,” the statement emphasized, listing the Ministry’s official website (www.education.gov.ng), the WAEC portal (www.waecnigeria.org), and the NECO portal (www.neco.gov.ng) among trusted sources.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of public examinations, adding that it continues to work closely with examination bodies to enhance monitoring and enforcement systems.
Furthermore, the Ministry warned that individuals found circulating false information will face investigation and possible prosecution by relevant security agencies.
“We remain dedicated to ensuring credible, fair, and well-conducted national examinations,” the statement concluded.
