The 2025 Kayokayo Festival in Epe witnessed another vibrant chapter on Sunday evening as the descendants of Oke-Iposu and Lagbade lit the second Etufu (ancestral flame) at the historic Kosoko Embankment Ground, Marina Waterfront.

Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, a respected community leader and the Vice Chairman Epe LG addressed the crowd on the sacred importance of the Etufu.
“The Etufu is not just a flame. It is a powerful link to our ancestors, a spiritual reminder of where we come from and who we are. Kayokayo Festival is a time of reflection, thanksgiving, and reaffirmation of our heritage,” he said.
Adding a remarkable dimension to this year’s celebration, Barrister Bayo Okulu announced the Street Feeding Initiative, a newly introduced social welfare program aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the community.
“This year, we’ve added something new, a Street Feeding initiative which will hold on Thursday at Ogunmodede Club House.
Each street will recommend 20 less privileged persons to benefit. This structure will ensure proper coordination, avoid overcrowding, and minimize risks or casualties,” he explained.
