- Set to join squad for US pre-season tour this week

The deal consists of a fixed £65 million fee and an additional £6 million in achievable add-ons, sources close to the club confirmed on Monday.
The 25-year-old will link up with Erik ten Hag’s squad ahead of their pre-season tour in the United States, with his unveiling generating huge excitement among fans.
Mbeumo expressed his delight, stating that joining the club of his dreams was a childhood goal finally realised.
He added that wearing the United shirt, which he idolised as a boy, is a moment of fulfilment, and he’s determined to push himself to the next level.
The forward also praised manager Ruben Amorim and said he looks forward to learning from the Portuguese tactician while playing with world-class teammates.

United’s attack came under heavy scrutiny last season after scoring only 44 league goals, their worst return in Premier League history.
The club sees Mbeumo as a dynamic attacking solution after his strong 2024–25 campaign where he netted 20 Premier League goals for Brentford.
Mbeumo began his professional career at Troyes in France before his £5.8 million switch to Brentford in 2019.
Since then, he has tallied 70 goals in 242 appearances across all competitions and earned a solid reputation in England’s top flight.
Old Trafford officials view his work rate, composure and tactical discipline as vital assets to their new attacking identity.
This move marks a major statement from United, who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing league campaign.
Fans and pundits have praised the club’s decisive approach, with many calling the move a long-overdue refresh to the forward line.
