EKO HOT BLOG reports that the meeting, held at the Imo State Government Lodge, was presided over by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum. While details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, sources suggest that the talks may have focused on key internal matters, including the potential emergence of a new National Chairman for the party.
Prominent APC governors in attendance included Babagana Zulum (Borno), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Uba Sani (Kaduna). Also present were Governors Bassey Otu (Cross River), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), although Oborevwori is from the opposition PDP.
Meanwhile, the APC has announced a change in venue for its 14th NEC meeting, originally scheduled to be held at its national secretariat, ‘Buhari House’, in Abuja. The meeting will now take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed the change on Wednesday, citing logistical reasons.
“The All Progressives Congress announces that the meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) scheduled to be held on Thursday, 24th July, 2025, will now take place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja,” Morka stated.

The NEC meeting is expected to deliberate on crucial party affairs, including leadership adjustments and strategic planning ahead of upcoming elections.
