An Air Peace flight travelling from Lagos to Enugu was forced to return mid-air on Thursday morning after the aircraft reportedly suffered a bird strike shortly after takeoff.

“We hereby notify you and the flying public of an ongoing flight disruption on our network today,” the airline said in an official statement.
“This morning, Flight P47100, operating the Lagos-Enugu route, experienced a bird strike and had to make an air return for safety checks,” the statement added.
The airline apologised for the inconvenience caused and appealed for understanding from affected passengers, noting that safety remains its highest priority.

Although the number of passengers on board was not disclosed, Air Peace confirmed that all relevant safety protocols were being observed as efforts to resume normal operations continue.
