In his address, Rep. Raji reflected on the humble beginnings of the school, which was born out of a community plea in 2021.
At that time, students had to trek long distances to access basic education, leading to dropouts and hardship. Upon hearing the concern from the community youth leader, Rep. Raji responded promptly by facilitating the establishment of the school, which officially opened in 2022.
“Today, those days are behind us. The seed we planted has grown and is now bearing fruit,” he declared, highlighting the ongoing construction of a new 12-classroom block, fully furnished and set for completion before the next academic session.
He acknowledged former Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, for her swift support in ensuring government approval, and extended appreciation to the school’s principal, Mrs. Akinrinmade, and the teaching staff for their dedication and success in grooming the students.
Amid the joyful atmosphere, Rep. Raji also addressed the lingering demand for a primary school in the community. He explained that while a foundation had initially been laid, a dispute over land ownership forced the relocation of the project.
He assured residents that once the community can provide a free, undisputed land, the establishment of a primary school would be prioritized.
“We’re ready. The only setback has been the land dispute. Once an unencumbered land is available, we will give Temu its own primary school,” he assured.
One of the event’s most heartwarming moments came with the appearance of two brilliant students, Daniela and Ngam Onyx, who had recently gone viral for their powerful debate performance.
Their outstanding talent caught the attention of Hon. Dolapo Badru, Leader of the Lagos State Caucus in the House of Representatives, who gifted ₦50,000 each to support their academic journey.
