A tragic accident occurred on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos, where a young woman, identified as a groundnut seller in her twenties, was fatally crushed by a truck.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that, the incident took place near the Five Star Bus Stop around 4:30 PM on July 30, 2025. The driver of the truck, Mohammed Abubakar, explained that he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to avoid a towing van on the busy expressway.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the victim was unable to escape the oncoming truck because other large vehicles were parked in the vicinity, blocking her path. Adding to the distress of the situation, the driver of the towing van involved in the incident reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident.
At the time of the initial reports, the identity of the young woman who lost her life remained unknown. The tragic event caused significant traffic congestion on the expressway and sparked anger among onlookers, some of whom threatened to set the truck ablaze in response to the fatality.
This incident highlights the dangers faced by street vendors and pedestrians on busy Nigerian roads.
