The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has officially proclaimed the 6th Legislative Council of the LCDA, in a significant stride towards strengthening grassroots democracy and governance.
Ekohotblog reports that the proclamation ceremony took place at the Eredo LCDA Secretariat, where Hon. Akinloye, exercising the constitutional authority vested in his office and in accordance with the Lagos State Local Government Administration Law, formally inaugurated the legislative arm of the council.

Addressing the newly constituted lawmakers, Hon. Akinloye emphasized the pivotal role of the legislature in ensuring accountability, participatory governance, and effective service delivery.
“I urge you all to discharge your responsibilities with the highest sense of duty and integrity. Our people deserve nothing less than committed representation and responsive leadership,” he said.
“There must be synergy between the Executive and the Legislature. This is not a time for division or rivalry but for collective action that accelerates development across our communities.”
Following the official proclamation, members of the newly inaugurated Legislative Council held their first sitting and unanimously re-elected Hon.Tunde Bakare Olowo as Leader of the House—a move many described as a vote of confidence in his leadership and consistency.

- Hon. Sulaimon Adebola Odubanjo – Deputy Leader
- Hon. Johnson Hamed Temitope – Majority Leader
- Hon. Adeniyi Wasiu Adeyemi – Chief Whip
- Hon. Mary Abosede Olusanya – Deputy Chief Whip
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Olowo expressed deep gratitude to his colleagues and constituents.
“I am humbled by this renewed trust. It is a call to service, and I pledge to lead with fairness, transparency, and unity of purpose.”
“Under my leadership, we will maintain harmony with the Executive arm. Our focus will remain on the people—on their needs, aspirations, and welfare.”
The ceremony drew a diverse crowd of supporters, community leaders, stakeholders, and political figures, all of whom welcomed the new legislative era with optimism and applause.
