The Vice Chairmen of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas across Lagos State have established a new association and elected their executive committee.
Eko Hot Blog reports that, this new leadership has pledged a strong commitment to collaboration and a focus on development at the local level.

The new association, formed during its inaugural meeting on Thursday, aims to create a platform for peer engagement and to give its members a stronger, collective voice. This is intended to help them address local challenges more effectively and meet the needs of the residents they serve.

The new leadership team is headed by Oluwatoyin Akerele, the Vice Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, who was elected as the association’s Chairman. Other top officials elected include Muizz Dosunmu of Surulere Local Government as Vice Chairman and Kabir Kareem of Ijede LCDA as the General Secretary.
In addition to the top positions, the new executive committee includes Murisiq Badru (Eti-Osa LG) as the Assistant Secretary and AbdulGaniyu Obasa (Agege LG) as the Public Relations Officer. Mathew Olaleye (Coker-Aguda LCDA) was named Legal Officer, while Adebisi Francis (Alimosho LG) was elected to serve as the Welfare Officer. Wasiu Dehinsilu of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA was named the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
The executive committee also includes zonal representatives for the state’s three senatorial districts: Shakir Sadiq (West), Oluremi Alogba (East), and Ganiu Ismail (Central). Other officials elected were Islamiyyat Aregbe as Financial Secretary and Oluwole Sosanya as Treasurer.
The newly elected executives affirmed their dedication to fostering effective local governance and working together to ensure development is felt directly at the community level.
