The Lagos State Government, in a determined effort to enforce traffic regulations, has sealed the Vaniti Club House, a popular nightlife spot on Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island
Eko Hot Blog reports that, following the club’s persistent disregard for traffic rules, which caused significant public inconvenience and safety risks, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) carried out an enforcement action led by its General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki.

The specific violations cited were illegal roadside parking and the encroachment of public highways by the club’s patrons and staff. These actions were a major cause of traffic congestion, making it difficult and hazardous for commuters and residents to navigate the area.
According to a statement from LASTMA’s spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, the decision to seal the club was not made lightly. It came only after the agency had exhausted all other options, including public sensitization campaigns, direct engagement with the club’s management, and multiple official warnings, all of which were ignored.
Bakare-Oki emphasized that this enforcement is part of a broader, sustained campaign by the state government to crack down on all clubs, event centers, and other establishments that operate with a blatant disregard for traffic laws.
He stressed the government’s commitment to ensuring free flow of traffic and maintaining order on Lagos roads noting that the premises will remain sealed indefinitely, serving as a warning to other violators.
The club’s management has been told that the establishment will only be reopened after they can provide verifiable proof of compliance with all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
