The TeenEagle competition is a globally respected event that evaluates students’ English proficiency, critical thinking, and communication abilities across both English speaking and non English speaking nations.
Her victory was confirmed in a statement by the head of her family, Hassan Salifu, who credited her achievement to hard work, discipline, and the supportive environment provided by the state government.
“Our daughter’s global success would not have been possible without the visionary support for education by His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose efforts have brought international honour to our state and nation,” Salifu said, as quoted by Leadership.

He also pointed out that Nafisa surpassed students from countries where English is the native language, a remarkable accomplishment that, in his view, reflects her intelligence and thorough preparation.
Her success has sparked celebrations across Yobe State and beyond, with her family expressing gratitude to Governor Buni and the staff of NTIC for their role in nurturing her academic talent.
“Nafisa’s success is a testament to the power of educational investment. Governor Buni’s commitment has not only transformed schools in the state but also positioned Yobe and Nigeria on the global stage,” the family added.
