Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has officially launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership revalidation and registration drive in the state. The governor validated his own membership at his ward, Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II, in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, where he was assigned registration number 001.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Governor Eno has encouraged all current and new party members to register in their respective wards.

He emphasized that this exercise is crucial to identify genuine party members and will last for one month. The new list of members created from this process will become the party’s official working document.

Governor Eno explained that his decision to join the APC was a strategic move to strengthen the state’s connection with the federal government. He said this was done to support the economic efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The governor urged the people of Akwa Ibom to remain unified, using the party’s broom symbol as an example, explaining that a bundle of brooms cannot be broken. The registration exercise at his ward was well-attended by a large and enthusiastic crowd of both old and new members.
