The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has urged the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to investigate and prosecute veteran Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM1, over alleged unruly behaviour at Abuja airport on Tuesday.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in letter signed by its spokesman, Michael Achimugu, the NCAA alleged that Ayinde’s actions, including an attempt to block a moving ValueJet aircraft, breached the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023 and other relevant laws. The authority requested a full criminal investigation and the initiation of appropriate charges.
This development comes shortly after the NCAA suspended two ValueJet pilots on August 5 over a safety breach at the same airport terminal. Preliminary findings indicated the pilots began departure procedures without mandatory pre-departure clearance, posing serious risks to ground staff and other airport users.
The breach reportedly followed a disturbance on the flight involving KWAM1. According to accounts, the singer was spotted drinking from a flask, prompting a flight attendant to intervene on suspicion it contained alcohol, a prohibited substance on Nigerian flights.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed that KWAM1 had attempted to board the aircraft with an unidentified liquid despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the flight captain. The situation escalated, allegedly contributing to the airport safety breach now under investigation.

NCAA maintained that such conduct undermines aviation safety protocols and called for strict enforcement of regulations to deter similar incidents in the future.
