In a direct challenge to the current administration, former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has expressed his confidence in defeating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Amaechi stated that he knows President Tinubu’s “weaknesses” and is ready to take him on, provided he secures the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Amaechi, who has emerged as a leading voice in an opposition coalition, has been openly critical of the Tinubu government. While speaking at an ADC event in Port Harcourt, he warned that the current economic hardship and insecurity would worsen if President Tinubu were to be re-elected.

However, these remarks come as he and other prominent political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, work to form a united front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
