Eko Hot Blog reports that International Youth Day, marked annually, serves as a reminder of the importance of youth in building sustainable communities, acknowledging their accomplishments, and addressing the challenges they face.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon. Olowa said, “Youth Day is not just about celebrating young people; it’s about celebrating the connection between generations. Progress happens when the wisdom of age meets the energy of youth.”
He commended the energy, dreams, and limitless potential of young people, stressing that they are not only the future but also the present. “As youths, the choices you make today will shape tomorrow. So dream big, but also act. Learn, but also teach. Listen, but also speak up. Your voice matters,” he encouraged.
Hon. Olowa further called on stakeholders to commit to an education system that truly empowers young people. “We need an education that excites minds, sparks passions, and gives youth the tools to build a better world. When we invest in the education of our youth, we invest in the future of our society,” he said.
