EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Bwala said his statement is based on a critical assessment of Nigeria’s political environment rather than assumptions.
“I have seen the political climate in Nigeria today, and I will speak to facts, not conjectures. There’s not a single politician who has the capacity to knock off President Bola Tinubu on all fronts,” Bwala stated.
His comments come amid calls from certain political stakeholders urging former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest in 2027. However, Bwala dismissed these calls, warning that those pushing for Jonathan’s return do not have his best interests at heart.
According to him, these individuals are attempting to lure Jonathan back into domestic politics to damage the global reputation he has built since leaving office in 2015.
“Some unscrupulous elements are trying to hoodwink former President Goodluck Jonathan to come into politics so they can destroy the reputation he has been building after he left government by becoming an international figure globally,” Bwala said.
He further alleged that many of those encouraging Jonathan to contest are the same people who played a role in his exit from office in 2015.
“The elements that are going to him in the North, asking him to come and run, were they not the ones that chased him away? What hope does he have that this time round, they are calling him because they mean well for him?” he added.
