Sources said, the rapid flooding submerged residential homes, farmlands, and other properties across Hong town.
The disaster comes just days after a similar event in Dugwaba district also within Hong LGA on August 6, and less than three weeks after parts of the state capital, Yola, were overwhelmed by floods on July 27.

Eyewitnesses told newsmen that the latest flood was among the most destructive the area has seen in recent years.
One resident, who narrowly escaped the rising water, explained,
“The flood caught many of us off guard. It kept rising fast and before we knew it, water had entered our houses and shops.”
Several communities were affected by the deluge, with hundreds of families now seeking refuge with relatives or in temporary shelters. Although no casualties have been confirmed, the scale of destruction has left residents counting their losses.
Another affected resident noted, “Most of us have lost what we worked hard for. The rain was too much, and we couldn’t salvage anything from the water.”
Local authorities are reportedly assessing the damage and planning emergency relief for displaced families. Meanwhile, community leaders are appealing to both state and federal agencies for urgent support.
